Peter Jex Blake
Private Adventure Guide
Nicci’s cousin, Peter, is a fourth-generation Gisborne-born guide, dedicated to sharing his incredibly beautiful Eastland home territory with visitors – “I want visitors to experience some of the local culture and insight into the ‘kiwi’ way of life”. His interests in tramping and rafting give Peter an edge in the area, but more interestingly, he is willing to donate the time he gives his guests, (his daily guiding fee), to a locally-based cause or charity, such as the Eastland Helicopter Trust, which provides helicopter search and rescue, or a hospice that provides palliative care for the terminally ill. (Any other costs incurred will be charged, e.g. fuel, food, entry fees, etc. Conditions apply.) Guests are able to choose from Peter’s selection of favourite charities and feel that they are truly leaving a worthwhile mark in his beloved New Zealand.
When Peter isn’t taking guests out, he lives happily with his wife in Wainui Beach, famous for its surf and sheer beauty. After running a large-scale farming operation, Peter diversified into the commercial property and storage business, along with an intensive beef and lamb finishing farm business. He guides in the summer months.
